Temperature excursions and delayed parcels

Cold-chain shipping is designed around a predictable transit time. When transit runs long the packaging is doing more work than it was specified for, and the honest answer to "is it still fine" depends on evidence rather than reassurance.
What an excursion is
A temperature excursion is any period during which the product was outside its specified storage range — the range its expiry date assumes (see what an expiry date does and does not tell you). Duration and magnitude both matter — a brief deviation is not equivalent to a parcel that spent two days warm — and neither can be inferred from the outside of a box.
Every order ships with insulated packaging, a cooling element and a temperature indicator (see cold-chain shipping, explained). The indicator is the piece of evidence, and it is worth reading before opening anything else.
What to do on arrival
Check the indicator first, then refrigerate immediately regardless of what it shows (see peptide storage and handling). If the indicator has triggered, or the parcel arrived materially outside the expected window, photograph the indicator and the packaging before unpacking further and contact us with the order reference.
Photographs taken before unpacking are the difference between a resolvable case and an unresolvable one. Once the packaging is broken down the evidence is gone.
What we can and cannot tell you
We can tell you what the packaging is specified for, what the corridor normally takes, and what the indicator means. We can replace a shipment where the cold chain demonstrably failed.
What we cannot do is certify that a product which has been through an excursion is unaffected. Stability data describes storage within range; it does not describe an arbitrary excursion. Anyone telling you a warm parcel is definitely fine is asserting something they cannot know.

It cannot be determined from the outside. Check the temperature indicator, photograph it before unpacking, refrigerate immediately and contact us with the order reference.
What is the temperature indicator for?
It records whether the shipment went outside its specified range in transit. It is the evidence that makes a cold-chain claim resolvable.
What if the parcel is just late?
Late is not automatically an excursion — the packaging holds for a period beyond the expected window. Check the indicator, which is the thing that actually answers the question.
