What is Retatrutide?

Retatrutide is a single peptide that activates three metabolic receptors at once: GLP-1, GIP and glucagon. Most weight-management peptides act on one or two of these. Acting on all three is why it has drawn so much attention.

In practice those three levers do different jobs: GLP-1 slows gastric emptying and reduces appetite, GIP supports insulin sensitivity and appears to improve tolerability, and glucagon-receptor activation increases energy expenditure. The result is appetite suppression paired with higher energy expenditure, rather than appetite suppression alone.

What the trials found

Retatrutide is an investigational compound. The figures below come from published, peer-reviewed clinical trials of the compound. They are not claims about Body Pharm's product, and individual results vary.

A separate Phase 2 trial in adults with type 2 diabetes reported a mean weight reduction of roughly 16.9% at 36 weeks (Rosenstock J, et al. Lancet. 2023;402(10401):529–544).

Trial participants received the investigational formulation under clinical supervision, alongside diet and exercise counselling. Retatrutide is not approved by the EMA or FDA. These results describe the compound in research settings and are not a promise of outcome.

32 mg or 64 mg?

Both pens hold 3 ml of the same compound. The 64 mg pen holds double the peptide in the same volume, which lowers the cost per milligram.

FAQ

How is Retatrutide different from semaglutide or tirzepatide?

Semaglutide is a single agonist (GLP-1). Tirzepatide is a dual agonist (GLP-1 + GIP). Retatrutide adds a third receptor, glucagon, which is associated with increased energy expenditure on top of appetite reduction. That third receptor is the usual explanation for why its Phase 2 weight-reduction figures came in higher than those reported for the earlier compounds.

How much does a pen contain, and how long does it last?

The 32 mg pen holds 32 mg in 3 ml; the 64 mg pen holds 64 mg in 3 ml. How long a pen lasts depends entirely on the weekly dose your clinician sets. The trial protocols ran from 1 mg up to 12 mg weekly with titration every four weeks, so a pen's duration changes as the dose changes.

Is Retatrutide approved?

No. Retatrutide is an investigational compound still in clinical development and is not approved by the EMA or FDA. It should only be used under the supervision of a qualified clinician, who should set your dose and monitor your bloodwork.

What are the reported side effects?

The Phase 2 trial reported that the most common adverse events were gastrointestinal (nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting and constipation), generally mild to moderate and dose-related. Slow titration is the standard approach to reducing them. Discuss your full medical history with your clinician before starting.

How is it stored and shipped?

Pens are temperature-sensitive and ship in insulated cold-chain packaging held between 2 and 8 °C. Refrigerate on arrival. If a pen arrives broken or isn't working, we replace it free of charge once you share photos or a short video showing the fault.

Do I need an account to order?

Yes. Ordering and joining a waitlist both require an account, and ordering also requires the eligibility quiz. Your order history lives in your account; the certificate for your batch is reached from the QR code on the pen or from the certificate index.
